Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anjani Kumar Sharan was born on 10th April, 1963. Enrolled as an advocate on 2nd September, 1991 in Patna High Court. Practiced in various Criminal, Constitutional & Service Matters in Patna High Court. As an advocate, he was empanelled as a Central Government Counsel at Patna. Also served as Assistant Solicitor General, Government of India, Standing Counsel, Central Government Counsel, CAT at Patna, Counsel for BSNL, etc. He was elevated as a Judge of Patna High Court on 17th April, 2019.

Patna High Court is the leading High court in India to Computerise Cause List Management System in 1992. We had also taken initiative in successfully experimenting trial of accused through video-conferencing between civil court and Jails of Bihar in 2001.Since 1992 National Informatics Centre (NIC) is working at Patna High Court for extending ICT Support to this Hon’ble Court.

About Patna High Court
The Judiciary is a distinct and independent arm of Government entrusted with judicial authority, and mandated to administer and deliver justice to the people of India. It plays a fundamental role in the promotion of law and order, human rights, social justice, morality and good governance. The independence of the Judiciary is guaranteed by the constitution in a number of its provisions regarding among others, the appointment, removal, salary and other conditions of service of judicial officers. The core of the Judiciary's independence is the absence of any interference for the Executive or the Legislature in judicial decisions. The mandate of the Judiciary is to establish and facilitate effective and efficient machinery capable of functioning as an adjudicating authority in India and of quickly administering and delivering justice and related services to the people of India. The key function of the Judiciary is therefore, the adjudication of civil and criminal cases. In addition, it interprets the constitution and gives effect to its provisions, as well as providing the expertise in interpreting of the laws.
