Born on 5th September, 1966 in the family of Smt. Laxmi Singh and Shri Umesh Prasad Singh, he got his early school education at Patna, Graduated in Commerce from Patna University and went to Hansraj College, Delhi University where he did one year Special Certificate Course in Commerce. Having secured First Position in First Division in the said course which was popularly known as ‘Bridge Course’ he got admission in the Post Graduation Program in Commerce in the Delhi School of Economics, but later on left the said programme and joined LL.B programme in Delhi University to make career in law. Having passed out LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in the year 1991, started his practice in Patna High Court . Learnt basics of legal profession in the chambers of his father Shri Umesh Prasad Singh who is a Senior Advocate in the High Court at Patna and has his Chambers at Ranchi as well. After starting practice in Patna High Court on 26.08.1991, got occasion to assist a number of senior Advocates at the Bar in Patna, Jharkhand , Calcutta and Delhi High Court and visited several Hon’ble High Courts in India to represent his clients. Established his offices in the State of Jharkhand at Ranchi as also at Kolkata. Being an out Station member of the Supreme Court Bar Association got opportunities to appear in several cases in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Also appeared in Company Law Board, B.I.F.R., A.A.I.F.R at Delhi and National Company Law Tribunal at Kolkata. Worked for several Central as well as State Government’s organization in the capacity of Retainer or Additional Retainer Advocate. At the time of elevation to the Bench, he was working for LIC of India, Central Bank of India, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority, Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation, Infrastructure Development Authority, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation and was also representing the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Patna as a Law Officer. His area of practice was mostly in the Company Matters, Contract, Commercial, Service and Civil Matters.
